HAYRIDE 2017

As is tradition, we are going on a Hayride at Andy T’s this year! It will be on Friday, October 13th (the date adds to the atmosphere!) and the cost is $20 per person. If you’d like, members, you can bring a friend who isn’t in IBO. Sign up HERE!

Career Prep Meeting!

Our second meeting of the semester will be on Monday, September 25th at 7pm in 111 Berkey Hall. At this meeting, Jimmy Johns is free for the taking and the topic is Career Prep. We will be going over all the resources the Lear Corporation Career Center has to offer students and what it takes to have a stellar resume that stands out from the rest of the stack.

Fall 2017 First Meeting

On Monday, September 11th we had our first general membership meeting of the Fall semester! The meeting was held at 7pm in 111 Berkey Hall (the same time and place of the rest of our meetings this semester) and we had Domino’s pizza available to those who attended. We introduced the organization to interested students and our Co-President, Marshall Reisig, gave a presentation on education abroad at MSU.

Last Meeting of Spring 2017!

Tonight is our last meeting of the semester and we are hosting PepsiCo! They will be speaking about their international presence and internship/full time opportunities. For food, we are providing INGcredible! for everyone! Make sure to come on out and get in your applications for our open Executive Board position.

Toronto Corporate Tour

TORONTO CORPORATE TOUR
We know you are all as excited as we are about this trip so here are the details:

When: 6pm Thursday, March 30th – 5pm Sunday, April 2nd

Where: Toronto, Ontario – staying in Hotel Victoria

Who: Currently, we have 16 spots (11 people have already signed up) but will up it to 20 if needed.

What: Friday we will be visiting companies, Saturday we will have a group dinner, the rest of the time is free to you but typically we will go in groups to activities around the city on Saturday.

Cost: $50, Venmo Collin Place or give us cash; includes hotel, transportation, parking, and one meal. This is due by Tuesday, March 14th

If we have more than 20 people sign up, those who have attended the most meetings/social events will be chosen to attend.

If you sign up and drop within a week of departure, you will be held liable for the full cost of the trip due to our inability to find a replacement in such short notice. If you must drop, please let us know as early as possible.

Meeting with Professor Tessmer

Monday, February 20th we are hosting Professor Tessmer for a discussion about cultural differences between Belgium, her home country, and the United States. She will also be going into depth about her study abroad program focusing on finance. The meeting will be at 7pm in 122 Berkey Hall and Jersey Mike’s will be provided!

Meeting- February 6th

Director of Logistics Dave Lepow from Owens Corning will be at our next meeting on February 6 at 7 PM in 122 Berkey Hall. He will share his background and explain Owens Corning’s global Supply Chain operations.

All majors are welcome at IBO meetings, and this will be an amazing opportunity to learn about Owens Corning’s work environment. Dave Lepow will give information about upcoming development programs and internships with the company, including one abroad for Supply Chain majors.

Cottage Inn pizza will be catered, and we are excited to see you there!

First Spring Meeting

IBO’s first meeting of the semester is tonight at 7 pm in 122 Berkey Hall! Professor Erika Butler will be speaking about study abroad opportunities through the Broad College of Business. Come get to know the other members of IBO and learn about the fun upcoming events that we have planned. We will be sharing more information about how to attend the Pistons Game and our Spring Corporate Trip to Toronto, Canada. Jimmy John’s sandwiches will be provided!
